Hi Pixies!
I am Taryn Michelle, the creator and owner of Pixie Naturals.
A few years ago, I was faced with a challenge to figure out what the root problem was with my eldest son's asthma and skin issues were. We were desperate and no specialist or medicine would work. My son’s asthma was so horrendous that I felt like I was holding my breath indefinitely for him. I woke up one day and said enough – I started doing everything holistic in our home like making our own laundry detergent and even making our own lotions/products along with many other changes to improve the air.
Low and behold, his asthma started to dissipate. His skin began to have less irritation little by little. For the first time in a long time, I could breathe knowing that he could too. This experience alone gave me hope – made me feel empowered. I was so excited that I figured out that I decided to make more of my body butter and share it with the world. First, my family. Then, my friends. Then, I thought, "Why not take it to my gym and give samples out?!" Slowly, I built a community of people who supported and loved my products, and so Pixie Naturals was born.
I started selling my lotions out of a picnic basket and this has now turned into a business with a mission to uplift every customer I encounter. My mission is to empower, encourage, and uplift one another, especially women in whatever the journey they are in. My products are made with the highest quality of butters, oils, and beeswax. I found local beeswax vendors and I also grow my own lavender to use in my products. I home infuse many herbs as well.
Outside of Pixie Naturals, I also have a regular 9-5 job and I am a mother of three sweet boys. I have been with my significant other for 6 years, I am a stepmother, a Christian, an artist, and a lifelong learner of many topics. On my free time you will catch me listening to science or growth minded topic podcasts, reading Kristin Hannah books, or at the gym. I am overly obsessed with holistic topics and every product that I create is made with love and excitement.
If you are thinking, "Why pixie naturals for your business name?" - Pixies, for me, have always represented a soft femininity, playfulness, and nature. I have plants everywhere in my home where we have created tiny fairy scenarios and I am just in awe of the cuteness and wonder where our imagination goes when we think if they really existed. My children bring me rocks and things from outside and I have through the years incorporated them in those same scenarios. I am a sucker for fiction as you can tell, but I think that having an imagination and wonderous side is something that has led to my success in this business and has healed my inner child.
